Staff is
constituted of five parallel lines.
Bars delimit measures. The Sol
key indicates where is the Sol note by the point
of its buckle . The 4 / 4 sign means that a measure contains
4 duration notes 1 / 4
who is a quarter . We can add lines
over or under staff
( as for the Do note ) . |
To fill a
measure it is necessary to have a note called whole or two notes called half or four notes called quarter or eight notes called eight . Of course
duration can vary provided that the total of times of all notes and possible silences is
equal to the duration of a measure . |
|
|
To each duration
of note corresponds a duration of silence ( rest ) .
If a dot is
situated after a note we have to play it 1 / 2 time more long
. If two notes are
linked we play only a duration equal to the two . If three notes
are linked with the inscription three ( 3 ) this is
a tuplet . These
three notes have to be played with a duration corresponding to two notes . |
If sharps or
flats are situated beside the key that means that these alterations have to be applied on all notes
with the same name .
The natural sign
serves to cancel all preceding sharps or preceding flats . If bars of measures are double and
associated with two dots that indicates that it is necessary to repeat measures situated
between these bars . |

The drums are
symbolized by a simpler manner because there are no notes . Duration between sounds are
drawing in the same manner that notes . A lot of current rhythms are played in measures with
four time ( 4 / 4 ) . Base for drums : bass
drum on time 1 and 3 , snare drum on time 2 and 4 . |
